The MIT Summer Fencing Camp is for fencers between the ages of 12 and 20, and offers a fantastic opportunity to learn about competitive fencing from world-class coaches while immersed in the most creative academic environment in the world — Cambridge, Massachusetts, home of MIT and Harvard University.
All campers will be using ultra modern MIT athletic facilities during practices and residents will be staying at the multiple award-winning student dorm, Simmons Hall – http://simmons.mit.edu/
During our camp's practices, we will be focusing on general fitness, fencing footwork, and a variety of techniques for offensive, defensive, and preparatory actions. Then, we will apply those elements in fragments of bouts, bouts with assignments, and free bouting. Individual lessons are included. All this will improve the technical and tactical aspects of your fencing and will significantly contribute to your preparation for the new season.
